Well done to our brilliant Year 6 children who had a fantastic time in London on Thursday this week.
Fortunately, the sun shone and the journey there went without a hitch!! Our tour of Parliament was informative and fascinating as always, and we learnt a great deal about how laws are made and passed. We were actually allowed into the House of Commons and the House of Lords (although we couldn't sit in their seats) and we had an opportunity to create and debate our own law.
After our visit, we took a walk to Horseguards where we watched the Changing of the Guard and then moved on to Buckingham Palace in the hope of having tea with the Queen but unfortunately she wasn't home so we had to make do with a well known fast food chain!!
To finish off our visit, we were treated to a fantastic performance of Wicked in the West End - just brilliant!!!!
Finally, a huge thank you to all the parents who made it out at an ungodly hour to pick the children up from school, you are real troopers and make visits like this possible. Thank you too, to the TAs and Governors who came along to help make our day a successful one and to the children who were a credit to our school. We had an amazing day.
Thank you to everyone who came to the Maths event on Thursday 15th September. It was an interesting and hopefully valuable session where we were able to share with you lots of important information on the teaching of maths in school and, in addition, launch My Maths, our new online teaching aid.
By now all the children will have received their log-ins and are hopefully benefitting from using this valuable resource. If you are experiencing any problems, then rest assured, we are working on ironing out any hitches and glitches. If your child does not have access to a home computer then please let us know and we will be able to make other homework arrangements as well as providing time for them to access their log-in in class.
Thank you for your continued support and watch this space for future Maths events and resources.
