Support Staff - Mrs.C.Jones and Ms.C.Hough
Homework
Homework will be set on Friday and should be returned to school by Tuesday. Tasks will either be set as work in Learning Logs or will be set online on My Maths. There are many other skills that children can be practising at home, including reading every evening, learning times tables and practising literacy and numeracy skills in real-life contexts e.g. working out percentages in sales.
If there are any issues concerning homework, please don't hesitate in contacting school so that the situation can be resolved.
Reading
By Years 5 and 6 children will be reading with a great deal more independence and will have clear preferences as to what they enjoy reading. With this in mind, they are welcome to bring in their own books to school or choose from the class and school library. All that we ask is that their book is in every day, they are filling in their reading records (which you are also welcome to make comments in) and that they are reading every day. The teaching of reading will take place in Guided and Shared reading which will form part of the children's language education. They will also learn to apply their skills through other subjects.
PE
This year PE lessons will take place on:
Wednesday - Outdoor Games (Jogging bottoms, warm top and trainers)
Thursday - Indoor Dance and Gymnastics (black shorts and white t-shirts/black pumps if pupils do not wish to work in bare feet)
Thursday - Forest Schools - The timetable will change this year so that children can experience Forest Schools during each half term. You will be notified of dates before hand.
Snack
School snack is available every day for the cost of £1 per week. Please pay either every half term or term via the school office or the school gateway. Thank you.
